Leadership and Management Online Degree Pathway - HTQ

Level 4 (Year 1 Qualification) 

To study to Level 4 of this course, you will need the following: 

• GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject, or, 
• Other related Level 3 qualifications such as T Levels or 
• Access to Higher Education Diploma from an approved Further Education Institution.
• Relevant work experience or an international equivalent of the above qualifications. 

You are also expected to have GCSEs at Grade 4 (Grade C) or above in English and Maths. 

If English is not your first language, you are required to have the following English language proficiency standards (or an approved equivalent for this qualification): IELTS Academic 6.0 minimum 5.5 across all components.

To progress to Level 5

To study to Level 5 of this course, you will need the following: 

• Successful completion of the HNC Level 4 in Leadership and Management. 
• You are also expected to have GCSEs at Grade 4 (Grade C) or above in English and Maths. 

The course is split into 2 parts: Level 4 Higher National Certificate: Foundation Excellence (Year 1) Level 4 provides a broad introduction to business and its key functions, building strong foundations for further study. You will develop core knowledge and practical skills through research, independent and directed study, and workplace scenarios. Level 5 Higher National Diploma: Advanced Professional Development (Year 2) Level 5 builds on this foundation, developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours aligned to the Occupational Standard for Operations Manager. You will apply theory to practice, manage complexity and uncertainty, and demonstrate critical evaluation across a range of business contexts. These units prepare you for employment in roles requiring personal responsibility and effective decision-making. Assessment Requirements There are no external exams included in this study programme, instead, you will complete a selection of written assignments. NB: You have one year from starting to complete the relevant Level (either 4 or 5). All our online programmes are delivered through a dedicated online learning platform, which allows 24/7 access to your study materials. Students pursue the programme in a linear fashion, which is organised into modules.

On successful completion of the Leadership and Management for England (2024) HTQ, you will be well prepared to pursue a wide range of career opportunities across different sectors. This may include progressing into senior leadership roles, such as director or senior manager, where you contribute to strategic decision‑making and organisational growth. You may choose to continue your studies through further education, such as an MBA or other specialised management qualifications, and engage in ongoing professional development through training, networking and industry engagement.
