Level 1 Diploma Electrical Installations

The Electrical Installations Level 1 Diploma is designed for learners who are considering a career as an electrician and want a practical introduction to the electrical industry. It is suitable for those who are new to the sector and want to build foundational skills and knowledge before progressing to further electrical study or training.

Throughout the course, learners gain an understanding of how the construction industry is structured and how electrical work fits within it. A strong focus is placed on fundamental safe working practices, site preparation and environmental and sustainability measures used in domestic settings. Learners also begin to develop practical skills in electrical installation, including wiring, terminations and basic fabrication techniques used in electrical work.

The course introduces key concepts in electrical science and technology, helping learners understand how electrical systems function and why safety, accuracy and planning are essential. Practical activities support learners in building confidence with tools, materials and workshop practices in a supportive learning environment. Alongside technical skills, learners are supported to develop maths and English through functional skills or GCSE study where required.

By the end of the course, learners will have gained a solid introduction to electrical installations and be prepared to progress to further electrical qualifications, apprenticeships or related construction pathways. This course is delivered at our Thurrock campus and at our Luckyn Lane campus.
