Course Overview
An Accounting T Level combines classroom‑based theory, practical learning and a minimum of 315 hours of industry placement with an employer, ensuring learners gain real workplace experience.
The Technical Qualification is the main classroom element of the T Level and is delivered through a curriculum designed and shaped by industry experts. Across the two‑year programme, learners develop the core knowledge that underpins the accounting sector, alongside occupationally specific skills that support progression into skilled employment.
T Level programmes have been developed in close collaboration with employers and businesses to ensure course content reflects industry needs and prepares learners effectively for the workplace.
The qualification provides a strong foundation for progression into highly skilled employment, an apprenticeship, or higher‑level study, including university. Learners who complete the Accounting Technical Qualification can choose to move directly into a skilled occupation or continue their studies, for example through a higher or degree‑level apprenticeship or further technical education.
Areas of study include the business environment, careers within the finance and accounting professions, regulation, professionalism, ethics, equality, diversity and inclusion, security and risk, professional services, fundamentals of law, financial accounting, technology, data‑driven innovation, analytics, design thinking, research skills, and project, change management and administration.
This course is free to UK learners under 19 who are not in employment.
