Course Overview
The Digital Data Analytics T Level is designed for learners who are interested in how digital systems and data are used to support decision‑making in businesses and organisations. It suits those who enjoy working with information, problem solving and technology, and who want to understand how data can be analysed to improve processes, services and outcomes across a wide range of sectors.
Throughout the course, learners develop both technical and business‑focused skills, building an understanding of how digital technologies operate within different market environments. They explore how organisations collect, manage and use data, and how digital tools can be applied to analyse information and solve real‑world problems. Learning focuses on showing how data supports planning, innovation and effective decision‑making in modern workplaces. Learners also study the wider context around digital technologies, including ethical and legal responsibilities, data privacy and confidentiality, and the impact of digital systems on individuals and organisations.
The course introduces different digital environments, such as physical, virtual and cloud‑based systems, alongside an understanding of internet security and the risks associated with working with data. This helps learners recognise the importance of safe, responsible and secure working practices. Practical project work forms a key part of the course, with learners developing skills in planning and managing digital projects, testing software, hardware and data, and using digital tools to support teamwork and collaboration. Learners also explore how data is used within software design, gaining insight into how systems are developed to meet user and business needs.
By the end of the programme, learners will have developed the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for progression within the digital sector. The Digital Data Analytics T Level provides a strong foundation for skilled employment, apprenticeships or further study in digital, business or IT‑related roles, supporting learners as they prepare for careers in a data‑driven world. This course is delivered at our Centre for Digital Technologies in Basildon.
