Course Overview

The Health T Level is designed for learners who are committed to making a difference in healthcare and are interested in developing the skills and knowledge needed for a career in the sector. It is suitable for hardworking and motivated learners who want an academically challenging programme that combines classroom learning with real workplace experience.

This two‑year Level 3 course is equivalent to three A levels and provides a strong foundation in health and science. Throughout the programme, learners develop an understanding of the healthcare sector, including health, safety and environmental regulations, safeguarding, infection prevention and control, and good scientific and clinical practice. Learning focuses on professionalism, accountability and delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care.

Learners will also develop knowledge of core and applied science concepts, health and wellbeing, and the importance of handling information and personal data responsibly within healthcare settings. Employability skills are embedded throughout the course, helping learners build confidence, communication skills and workplace behaviours expected in the health sector.

A substantial industry placement is a key part of the programme, allowing learners to apply their skills in a real healthcare environment and gain valuable experience. By the end of the course, learners will be well prepared for progression into higher education, apprenticeships or employment across a range of healthcare roles, with a clear understanding of the demands and responsibilities of working in the sector.
