So, what are my choices?

Our colleges offer a wide variety of courses from Entry level to Level 7. For School Leavers looking for their next step on from GCSE’s, we can help support you on your journey.

Entry Level

Entry level courses are designed for students working below GCSE level, helping you build confidence, skills and a strong foundation for further study.

Level 1 - GSCE

Level 1 courses are equivalent to GCSE grades 1/G to 3/D and are designed to help you build your skills and confidence as you progress in your learning journey.

Level 2 - GSCE, BTEC

Level 2 vocational courses are equivalent to GCSE grades 4/C to 9/A* and help you strengthen your knowledge and skills, preparing you for the next step in your studies or future career.

Level 3 - BTEC, T-Level, A-Levels

Level 3 vocational courses and T-Levels are equivalent to A Levels and help you develop advanced knowledge and skills, preparing you for university, an apprenticeship or moving into your chosen career.

At our Thurrock College, we also offer A-Level pathways.

Level 4 - HNC

Higher education courses at Level 4 and above are designed for adult learners (18+) looking to progress from A Levels, T Levels or a Level 3 qualification.

At Level 4, qualifications include Higher National Certificates (HNC), Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQ) and Level 4 Foundation diplomas.

Level 5 - HND

At Level 5, qualifications include Higher National Diplomas (HND), Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQ) and Foundation degrees.

Level 6 - Degree

Level 6 qualifications are equivalent to a full undergraduate degree, such as a BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons). They demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills gained through higher education and are recognised at the same academic level as a bachelor's degree with honours.
