Jack Archer has been recognised as the Pathway to Independence Award Winner at Thurrock College in celebration of his outstanding progress, personal development and commitment to learning. Since the beginning of the year, Jack has shown exceptional growth across all areas of his studies. His confidence has increased significantly, and he has become a highly valued and respected member of the class.

Jack is consistently polite, hardworking and focused. He contributes positively to the learning environment, supporting and encouraging his peers and helping to create a calm, friendly and productive classroom atmosphere.

Jack has shown real courage by stepping outside his comfort zone to attend GCSE English. This was a significant milestone in his journey and reflects his willingness to challenge himself, even when tasks feel demanding. Reflecting on his achievement, Jack said: “I’m really happy and excited to win the award. I’m 16, and the course has been great with lots of activities. I’ve gained more confidence and feel better talking to people. I’m looking to go into construction.”
