Course Overview
This Level 2 Diploma is designed for learners who have successfully completed Level 1 Carpentry & Joinery and want to progress their skills towards professional site joinery.
The course develops practical and theoretical knowledge in areas such as first and second fix operations, structural carcassing, building methods, construction technology and safe working practices.
Learners gain experience in setting up and operating machinery, carrying out maintenance tasks and working accurately to drawings and specifications.
Maths and English are embedded to support technical understanding and employability. Successful completion supports progression into apprenticeships or employment within the construction industry. The course is offered at our Thurrock College and Basildon College (Stephenson Road campus).
This course is free to UK learners under 19 who are not in employment.
Level 3 Diploma in construction or an apprenticeship.
