Essential Digital Skills Entry Level 3 and Level 1

The Essential Digital Skills Entry Level 3 and Level 1, 8 week course, is designed for learners who want to develop practical digital skills to support work, further learning and everyday life. It is suitable for those who want to improve their confidence using digital devices and gain a better understanding of how digital technology is used safely and effectively. 

Throughout the course, learners develop essential skills for using digital devices and handling information securely. They learn how to create and edit digital documents, communicate online, and use digital tools confidently for everyday tasks. Learning is practical and focused on real‑life scenarios, helping learners understand how digital skills apply both at work and at home. The course also covers how to register for online services, carry out transactions safely and use the internet responsibly. Learners build an understanding of online safety, privacy and security, helping them stay safe while using digital technology. Support is provided at Entry Level 3 and Level 1, allowing learners to progress at a pace that suits their needs. 

By the end of the course, learners will have improved digital confidence and a stronger foundation of essential digital skills. This qualification supports progression into further training, employment or independent use of digital technology, helping learners feel more confident and capable in an increasingly digital world. This course is delivered at our Centre for Digital Technologies in Basildon.
