Course Overview
The iQualify Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work Award is designed for learners who want to develop essential first aid skills for use in the workplace or as a valuable life skill. It is suitable for employees across a wide range of sectors, as well as individuals who want the confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations. Throughout the course, learners develop an understanding of the role and responsibilities of a first aider and learn how to assess incidents safely and calmly.
The course covers essential emergency procedures, including how to respond to choking, bleeding, burns and scalds, seizures and shock, helping learners recognise when and how to take appropriate action. Learners also develop practical skills in communication and casualty care, including resuscitation techniques such as CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator. Training focuses on real‑life scenarios, helping learners build confidence in managing emergencies until professional help arrives.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to provide immediate and effective first aid in a range of emergency situations. This Level 3 Award supports workplace health and safety requirements and gives learners practical skills that are useful both at work and in everyday life. Multiple start dates are available across the year.
Applicants for this course must be over 16 and have a good command of the English language. Candidates must provide one of the following forms of identification: Valid in-date passport (any nationality), signed in-date UK photocard driving licence UK, biometric residence permit card, birth certificate (BUT if a birth certificate is presented as proof of identification an additional form of identification such as a signed bank card utility bill or a letter issued by a government department must also be provided).
Assessment: To achieve this qualification you will need to gain 11/15 in a multiple choice test and pass a practical assessment. Those who pass the test will achieve the Highfield Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work.
The cost of this course is £75. A 20% discount is available for groups of 6 or more when delivered in your workplace. A 10% discount is available for groups of 6 or more when delivered in one of our venues. Dates for groups of 6 or more can be decided by you and we will do our best to accommodate your requested dates.
This qualification can support career development in a wide range of workplaces where emergency first aid skills are valuable. It is particularly useful for First Aiders, workplace support staff, supervisors, team leaders, childcare and education staff, hospitality and leisure workers, sports and fitness professionals, security staff and event staff. The qualification can also complement careers in healthcare, social care, construction, retail, facilities management and community services, while providing a valuable foundation for further first aid training and professional development.
