Course Overview
The iQualify Level 2 Mental Health First Aid Award supports you to develop an understanding of mental health and how to respond appropriately when someone is experiencing mental ill health. It is suitable if you want to build awareness of mental health first aid principles and understand how wellbeing can be supported in everyday and workplace settings.
During the course, you can explore what is meant by mental health and mental ill health, including common risk factors and the impact of stigma. Learning focuses on recognising signs of mental ill health in yourself and others, helping you understand when support may be needed and how to respond in a calm and appropriate way.
You will also learn about the principles of first aid for mental health and how these can be applied in practical situations. This includes understanding ways to support mental wellbeing in the workplace, how a positive wellness culture can be promoted, and the importance of resilience and self‑care when offering support to others. The course supports you to develop confidence in discussing mental health and understanding appropriate boundaries when providing support.
By the end of the course, you will have a clearer understanding of mental health first aid, wellbeing and supportive practices that are valuable across a wide range of professional and everyday environments.
To study this course you must be over 16 and have a good command of the English language. Candidates must provide one of the following forms of identification: Valid in date passport (any nationality), signed in date UK photocard driving licence, UK biometric residence permit card, birth certificate (BUT if a birth certificate is presented as proof of identification an additional form of identification such as a signed bank card utility bill or a letter issued by a government department must also be provided).
This course is delivered over 2 days: 10:00-17:00. To achieve this qualification you must pass 2 multiple choice exams. Pass mark for each exam is 60%. Those who pass the test will achieve the Highfield Level 2 Award in Introduction to Mental Health First Aid.
The cost of this course is £100 . A 20% discount is available for groups of 6 or more when delivered in your workplace. A 10% discount is available for groups of 6 or more when delivered in one of our venues. Dates for groups of 6 or more can be decided by you and we will do our best to accommodate your requested dates.
