Course Overview
The iStudy Information, Advice and Guidance Level 2 Certificate (Online) supports you to develop an understanding of how information, advice and guidance are provided in a professional and ethical way. Delivered through distance learning with online workshops via Microsoft Teams, the course is suitable if you want to build skills for roles that involve supporting others to make informed decisions.
During the course, you can learn how values, attitudes and beliefs can influence interactions, and how effective communication and interpersonal skills support positive outcomes. Learning focuses on developing confidence in engaging with others and understanding how information, advice or guidance can be explored appropriately depending on individual needs.
You will also develop knowledge of best practice in information, advice and guidance, including signposting and referral processes. The course introduces you to managing information responsibly, covering how information is stored and retrieved in line with legal requirements and data protection principles. This course provides flexible online learning with guided support to help you build professional awareness and interaction skills.
By the end of the course, you will have a clearer understanding of information, advice and guidance practice and transferable skills that support progression into further study or roles where supporting, advising and guiding others is a key part of the role.
To study this course, you must provide one of the following forms of identification: Valid in-date passport (any nationality), Signed in-date UK photocard driving licence, UK biometric residence permit card, Birth certificate (BUT, if a birth certificate is presented as proof of identification, an additional form of identification such as a signed bank card, utility bill or a letter issued by a government department must also be provided).

This course is fully funded and free for learners aged 19 or over who are currently living in England and meet the eligibility and entry criteria. Please note that funding rules are occasionally subject to change.
Please note that we can only offer this course for free if it is completed within 6 weeks. If you start the course and do not complete within this time you will incur a £125 administration fee to cover the costs involved in your sign up. However, providing you do 2-3 hours study per night we are confident that you will complete within the 6 week timeframe.
