Course Overview
The iStudy Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding and Prevent (Online) supports you to develop an understanding of safeguarding and how people can be protected from harm, abuse and radicalisation. Delivered through online learning, this course is suitable if you want to build knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities in a range of professional or voluntary settings.
During the course, you can learn how safeguarding works in practice and how to recognise signs that an individual may be at risk. Learning explores different forms of abuse, neglect and exploitation, alongside the importance of responding appropriately and following safeguarding procedures. You will also develop an understanding of the Prevent Duty, including how radicalisation can occur and how the risk of radicalisation can be reduced. The course introduces the government’s Prevent programme and explains how safeguarding and Prevent responsibilities link together in everyday practice. Online safety is also covered, helping you understand how risks can present in digital environments. This course offers flexible online learning to support you in building awareness and confidence around safeguarding and Prevent.
By the end of the course, you will have a clearer understanding of safeguarding principles, legal responsibilities and the role individuals play in keeping people safe, supporting progression into further study or roles where safeguarding awareness is essential.
To study this course, you must provide one of the following forms of identification: Valid in-date passport (any nationality), Signed in-date UK photocard driving licence, UK biometric residence permit card, Birth certificate (BUT, if a birth certificate is presented as proof of identification, an additional form of identification such as a signed bank card, utility bill or a letter issued by a government department must also be provided).
