The iStudy Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Customer Service (Online) supports you to develop an understanding of effective customer service and professional communication in the workplace. Delivered through online learning, the course is suitable if you want to build confidence in customer‑facing roles and understand how positive service experiences are created and maintained.

During the course, you can learn about the principles of customer service and service delivery, including how organisations aim to meet customer needs and expectations. Learning focuses on understanding customer behaviour and the importance of delivering consistent, high‑quality service. You will also explore how good working relationships with customers and colleagues are developed through effective communication and teamwork. The course encourages you to understand how employer organisations operate and how customer service roles contribute to wider business success. This course offers flexible online learning to support your development at a pace that suits you.

By the end of the course, you will have a clearer understanding of customer service principles and transferable skills that support progression into further study or roles where customer interaction and communication are key.

Entry Requirements

To study this course, you must provide one of the following forms of identification: Valid in-date passport (any nationality), Signed in-date UK photocard driving licence, UK biometric residence permit card, Birth certificate (BUT, if a birth certificate is presented as proof of identification, an additional form of identification such as a signed bank card, utility bill or a letter issued by a government department must also be provided).

Assessment and Feedback

You will be assessed on this course through the completion of online modules. As this is a fully online course, you will need good organisational skills and are encouraged to commit around 2 to 3 hours of study per evening to complete the programme within the 6 week timescale. You will need access to an internet enabled desktop or laptop computer and an active email account. Please note that this course is not compatible with tablets or smartphones.

Fees and Funding

This course is fully funded and free for learners aged 19 or over who are currently living in England and meet the eligibility and entry criteria. Please note that funding rules are occasionally subject to change. Please note that we can only offer this course for free if it is completed within 6 weeks. If you start the course and do not complete within this time you will incur a £125 administration fee to cover the costs involved in your sign up. However, providing you do 2-3 hours study per night we are confident that you will complete within the 6 week timeframe.
