Level 2 Diploma Plumbing

The Plumbing Level 2 Technical Certificate supports you to build on the skills and knowledge developed at Level 1 and progress further within the plumbing industry. 

This course is a direct progression route and is suitable if you have successfully completed a Level 1 Plumbing qualification and want to develop greater technical and practical understanding. 

Throughout the course, you will develop more advanced plumbing skills through both theory and practical learning. You will gain a deeper understanding of domestic hot and cold water systems, sanitation, central heating and drainage, supported by scientific principles relevant to plumbing work in domestic, industrial and commercial settings. 

Practical learning focuses on developing accuracy and confidence in plumbing installation techniques. You will work with materials such as low‑carbon steel, copper and waste pipe, fabricating frames, installing sanitary ware and completing plumbing systems to professional standards. 

Health and safety is embedded throughout, helping you work safely and responsibly in workshop and site‑based environments. The course also introduces electrical principles linked to building services engineering, supporting your understanding of how plumbing systems integrate with wider building services. 

Maths and English are included to support your technical development and professional communication. By the end of the course, you will have developed stronger technical knowledge, practical competence and industry awareness. 

This qualification supports progression onto further plumbing training or apprenticeships and provides a solid foundation for continued development within the plumbing and domestic heating sector. This course is delivered at our Thurrock campus, as well as our Luckyn Lane campus.
