Course Overview
This apprenticeship provides a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills, and behaviours that can be gained while working across an organisation and its processes. It offers a strong grounding in organisational operations, functional processes, and the wider working environment.
Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, maintaining, and improving administrative services. You will be expected to work independently, take responsibility for the outcomes of your work, and perform to a high professional standard with support from your employer. By working across different functional areas, you will build effective team relationships, learn from others, and develop a broad and adaptable skill set.
The practical training period lasts 17 months, followed by a 1 month 'End Point Assessment' period. As part of the apprenticeship, you will complete a range of activities and learning elements. These include understanding your organisation’s purpose, aims, values, context, and structure, and how your department, team, and role contribute to overall operations. You will develop knowledge of regulations and organisational policies, IT systems, record keeping, documentation production, and key organisational processes. You will also focus on managing stakeholder needs and maintaining professional relationships, planning and organising your workload, and managing your own performance.
Further areas of development include business fundamentals, implementing change, project management, quality management, decision making, communication, and information presentation. You will explore external environmental factors affecting organisations and complete a project presentation alongside portfolio completion.
