Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media (Print Media & Communications) (2 year study programme)

The Creative Media Production (Print Media and Communications) Level 3 Extended Diploma is designed for learners who are interested in developing creative and communication skills for the media industry. It suits those who enjoy working with ideas, visuals and written content, and who want to explore how print and digital media are planned, produced and presented in real‑world contexts. 

Throughout the course, learners produce a broad portfolio of print‑based media products through project‑based assignments. This includes creating newspaper and magazine articles and designs, allowing learners to develop their writing, layout and design skills while working to realistic briefs. Learners also explore traditional and digital printing techniques, helping them understand how ideas move from concept to finished product. Practical workshops form an important part of the course, with learners developing skills in photography, video and digital image manipulation to support their print and communication work. 

Learners also build an understanding of visual communication and design for the web, learning how media content is adapted across different platforms. Alongside practical production, learners develop skills in visual analysis, interview techniques, research and presentation, all of which are essential in creative and media‑based roles. By the end of the course, learners will have built a strong creative portfolio and developed the written, visual and presentation skills needed for the media industry. 

The course provides a realistic insight into working in creative media and supports progression to higher education courses or employment in media, design or communications roles.
